Carefully handled from the moment it’s caught, each fish is hand-filleted, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen at sub-zero temperatures to lock in freshness and quality.
Black cod is prized for its rich but mild, buttery flavor and silky, tender texture, with a high natural oil content that makes it especially forgiving to cook and incredibly delicious. Grill it, bake it, sear it, or broil it—black cod shines with simple preparation and does well with marinades or glazes.
Each portion is 3–6 oz, perfectly sized for convenience. Smaller portions mean less waste, quicker thawing, and a tighter vacuum seal for maximum freshness. A 5 lb box includes over 14 individually packed portions.
A standard stand-up freezer can hold over 60 lbs, though we recommend a chest freezer for optimal storage and consistently lower temperatures. Properly stored, your black cod will stay fresh in the freezer for over a year—so you can stock up and enjoy wild Alaskan fish anytime.
